Talk about a surreal head trip!

Tuesday evening’s world premiere of ‘PUBLIC ENEMIES’ at the Los Angeles International Film Festival was rocking! Johnny Depp, rock star extraordinaire, brought the house down when he and co-star Marion Cotillard arrived (under the direction of Michael Mann), put their entire foot in it and it sizzled…. I hadn’t experienced an event of that magnitude since the ‘ALI’ premiered back in December 2000 where, no question, I was like a deer in headlights. I don’t know how I didn’t faint! Remember the episode of the ‘Honeymooners’ where Ralph’s on ‘the $99,000 Answer’ and was so nervous that he stammered Ed Norton was the writer of ‘swanny river’? That was yours truly, all the way and I really do stutter…. On Tuesday before I left the house, my wife said to me “Bruh (that’s a New Orleans thang), you step out and be who you are. Nervous, excited? You should be. Stay in the moment, take it all in and really enjoy it.” Then, she patted me on the butt like I just hit a game-winning home run and let a ‘Go get’em champ’ seductively drip into my ear…psyche. No, she didn’t but you get the picture. I had a really wonderful time reconnecting with the PE cast and crew. So thanks for indulging me and taking an interest in what we’re doing here at michaelbentt.com…
